KeymasterAbhishek Sharma Registered Highest Score By An Indian In IPL
Indian opener Abhishek Sharma etched his name in IPL history with the highest score by an Indian, delivering a stunning knock of 141 off just 55 balls during Sunrisers Hyderabad’s home game against Punjab Kings in the 27th match of the season. Chasing a daunting target of 246, the Southpaw showcased his class and aggression, smashing 10 sixes and 14 boundaries.
Punjab Kings set a staggering total of 245/6, fueled by Shreyas Iyer’s explosive 82 off 36 balls, along with contributions from Prabhsimran Singh (42) and Priyansh Arya (36). The Sunrisers needed a strong start, and Abhishek took charge, forming a spectacular 171-run opening partnership with Travis Head, who added 66 off 37 balls. Abhishek began the carnage in the very first over, taking 18 runs off Jansen, and continued to dominate the bowlers throughout his innings, reaching his century in just 40 balls.
After his century, Abhishek added 41 more runs off the next 15 balls before being dismissed in the 17th over. His blazing innings helped the Sunrisers achieve victory with eight wickets in hand and nine balls to spare, cementing his status as one of India’s brightest young talents in cricket.
