      Amit Mishra’s T20I Wickets

Amit Mishra is a former leg-spinner who played for India on and off across all formats. Despite making his international debut in 2003 against South Africa, he had to wait for 7 more years due to experienced spinners Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh being a part of the team regularly. Having made his first appearance in the t20 international in 2010 against Zimbabwe, he only featured in 10 games for the Men in Blue and bagged 16 wickets with the best bowling figure 3/24 against West Indies in the T20 World Cup 2014.

The 2014 T20 World Cup was a memorable event in his T20I career, he picked up 10 wickets in six outings and helped India immensely to reach the finals which they lost to Sri Lanka.

Mishra relied on flight and a big leg spin and rarely bowled googlies. Even after the departure of Harbhajan and Kumble from the side, the new generation bowlers Ashwin and Jadeja became go-to spinners with their skilful bowling, hence he did not fit in the combination. But whenever he got the chance, the leggie grabbed them with open hands and performed well. His misery economy of 6.31 dictates the difficulty of hitting him and the tricky line and length he bowled on.
