KeymasterCSK Retained players 2024
The five-time world champions Chennai Super Kings submitted their player retention list on Sunday ahead of the 2024 IPL auction. They have retained 20 players including their skipper MS Dhoni while bidding adieu to 8 players.
English skipper Ben Stokes is the biggest name among released players by the CSK management. He was sold for a whooping INR 16.25 cr in the 2023 edition of the auction but due to injury issues and commitment to the national duties he played only 2 games in the entire season. The Other big player on the list is Ambati Rayudu who retired from IPL post-2023 IPL triumph.
Dwaine Pretorius, Sisanda Magala, and Kyle Jamieson are the other foreign players to be in the auction in December from CSK. Among Indian nationals, Akash Singh, Bhagath Varma, and Subhranshu Senapati have been released too.
Chennai Super Kings will try to defend their title in the 2024 season and increase the glamour of their cabinet with one more trophy. But they will try to fill the gap left by star all-rounder Ben Stokes by picking up a worthy player with all abilities. Apart from this exclusion. the Men in Yellow looks fine in terms of combination with the likes of Shivam Dube, Moeen Ali, Ravindra Jadeja, etc.
CSK will start bidding in the much-awaited auction with INR 32.1 cr in their purse on 19th December in the Coca-Cola arena in Dubai.
