CSK Retained Players For IPL 2025

Chennai Super Kings or CSK submitted their retained players list for the IPL 2025 ahead of the mega auction on Thursday, 31st October.

Ruturaj Gaikwad & Ravindra Jadeja

The five-time champions have retained Ruturaj Gaikwad as their first-choice player with a massive deal of INR 18 cr, left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja will also be earning the same amount from the men Yellow after extending his stay in the franchise. In the previous season, Ruturaj made a sum of INR 8 cr which is less than half of next year’s salary while Jadeja provided his services for INR 16 cr.

Matheesha Pathirana

The Chennai-based franchise has also retained Lankan slingy fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana for INR 13 cr which is 65 times his salary of 20 lacs in IPL 2024. He picked up 13 wickets in six games in the 2024 season before being injured.

Shivam Dube

The management has shown their faith in all-rounder Shivam Dube for his ability to play big shots against spinners and fast bowlers equally in the middle and death overs.  He has agreed to play for CSK for a whooping sum of INR 12 cr. Dube was instrumental in winning the T20 World Cup 2024 for India along with performing well in the IPL 2024.

MS Dhoni

CSK’s last retention until the next mega auction is none other than their most experienced player, legendary MS Dhoni, who will play as an uncapped player after the IPL committee’s new rule that says an international player who has not featured in any international game in the last five years and did not have a BCCI contract in the same span will be considered an uncapped player. MS will get a salary of INR 4 cr for his stint.

With all these retentions, CSK has kept their core team alive to do well in the tournament and will have INR 55 cr and one RTM card to construct their team in the upcoming mega auction from their purse of 120 cr.
