Darius Visser Shattered Yuvraj Singh's T20I Record

The 28-year-old batsman achieved this historic feat during the 15th over of Samoa’s innings and smashed three sixes off the first ball of Nipiko, a no-run in the 4th ball, a six, and a dot in the next two balls, a run in the next no-ball, a six in the 2nd no ball, and followed it by a maximum to end the over. He overshadowed Yuvraj Singh who smashed 36 runs in the 2007 T20 World Cup, Kieron Pollard (36 vs Sri Lanka) in 2021, and other players like Nicholas Pooran, Dipensra Airee, and Rohit Sharma who all did the heroic.

Visser played a rampage innings of 132 off 62 balls with the help of 14 maximums and 5 fours to take Samoa’s score to 174 after 20 overs. Later their bowlers did the rest and limited Vanuatu to 164/9 to win the match by 10 runs.

Visser was awarded the Man of the Match award for his terrific strokeplay.
