KeymasterDeepti Sharma Became First Indian To Take Hat-Trick In WPL
The reliable all-rounder of the Indian Women’s team Deepti Sharma became the first Indian to take a hat-trick in the WPL during the 15th game of the 2nd edition of the Women’s Premier League in Delhi. UP Warriorz was facing table-toppers Delhi Capitals in the game.
Batting first UP Warriorz set a mere target of 139 runs with Deepti being the top-scorer, making 59 runs in 49 balls. In the pursuit of defending the low target, the whole UP bowling unit put a commendable effort but it was Deepti Sharma’s hat-trick that brought DC to their knees. In the last ball of the 14th over, first she trapped skipper Meg Lanning in front of wicket. Afterward, she sent Sutherland and Arundhati Reddy in back to back deliveries of the 18th over. From 112/4, the hosts saw them all out for 137 and lost the game by 1 run.
For her superb all-round show, Deepti was conferred with the Man of the Match award.
