The ace batter took 81 innings to reach the milestone, achieving it in 2021 during a T20 against England in Ahmedabad. Kohli is also the highest run-getter in the men’s T20I with 4037 runs in 117 outings.

Current Pakistani captain Babar Azam completed 3000 T20I runs in the same number of innings as Virat Kohli, making him the 2nd joint fastest to score 3000 runs in the T20 internationals. He accomplished the milestone in 2022 during a T20 game against England in Lahore.
