Gautam Gambhir Returned To KKR Again
Former Indian player Gautam Gambhir returned to KKR again for the 2024 season as a mentor ahead of the 2024 IPL auction. The Kolkata Knight Riders management shared the collaboration with the former captain via their X handle on Wednesday 22nd November.
Gambhir served as the mentor of the Lucknow Super Giants for the 2023 and 2023 seasons. Under his mentorship, the Lucknow-based franchise made it to the playoffs both times but could not win it.
Gautam Gambhir Returned To KKR Again
The heartbeat of KKR is back home now. Earlier in his career, the Southpaw led the franchise from 2011 to 2017 after the team had a devastating campaign for the first three years. He helped Kolakta to clinch the coveted trophy in 2012 and 2014 with his aggressive and great tactics. Apart from that, the Shahrukh Khan-owned team qualified for the playoffs five times under Gambhir.
After Gambhir’s departure, KKR has not lifted the trophy yet. This signing significantly dictates that the franchise is keenly looking for a turnaround and lifting the silverware for the third time. In the next season, he will be seen working with head coach Chandrakant Pandit and bowling coach Bharat Arun.
