Glenn McGrath is probably the greatest ever fast bowler to play the game. The lanky fast bowler was popular for his sheer accuracy on the good length area across formats which propelled him to dominate the top batting lineups around the world. He led the Aussie bowling unit from the late 90s to the early 2000s and finished his career as the highest wicket-taker for Australia in ODIs and tests with 381 and 562 wickets respectively. McGrath was also a major contributor for Australia in the World Cup, having taken 71 wickets in 39 matches he is the leading wicket-taker in the event’s history.

Like other legendary figures like Sachin Tendulkar, Shane Warne, Muttiah Muralitahran, etc Mcgrath also participated in the IPL. He just played 2 seasons in IPL, in the inaugural edition, Delhi Daredevils acquired his services and he picked up 12 wickets in 14 appearances. However, it was his meager economy of 6.61 which drew everyone’s attention as at the latest stage of his career too, McGrath was controlling the ball insanely. In the 2009 season, the New South Wales pacer did not play any match. Hence, the tournament had the opportunity to see his magic for one season only.

All in all, the record of Glenn McGrath in the IPL was 12 wickets in 14 matches with the best bowling figure of 4/29.
