Harshit Rana Made Test Debut In Perth

Kolkata Knight Riders seamer Harshit Rana made his test debut on Friday, November 22nd, during the first match of India’s tour of Australia 2024-25 at the Optus Stadium in Perth. The 22-year-old young sensation became the 316th player to represent India in the longest format of the game and got his cap from veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.

Harshit earlier received his T20I and ODI call-up on the back of a golden season with the ball with KKR in IPL 2024 where he bagged 19 wickets in 11 innings, helping the Knights immensely to clinch their third IPL title. Besides, before the Australia tour, he bagged eight wickets in two games in the Duleep Trophy which impressed the selectors with his ability to play red-ball cricket.

The Delhi fast bowler has been playing first-class cricket since 2022 and has taken 43 wickets in ten matches, including two five-wicket hauls and one ten-wicket haul. Rana reportedly drew the management’s attention in the practice session and simulation game prior to the first match as he was getting unplayable bounces while hitting the deck hard which is his natural style of bowling.
