209 vs Australia
India’s highest successful run chase in the T20 emerged against Australia in Visakhapatnam in the 1st T20 of Australia tour of India 2023. Batting first, Australia posted a massive score of 208 runs on board. Yashasvi Jaiswal provided India with a brisk start with 21 off 8 balls. Then skipper Suryakumar Yadav’s quickfire 80 off 42 balls and Kishan’s fine 58 off 39 balls helped India to go past the 209 target in the 2nd last ball of the 20th over. They hit 11 sixes in the match in total.
208 vs West Indies
In the 1st T20 of India vs West Indies in 2019, Phenomenal teamwork led by Shimron Hetmeyer’s 56 allowed the visitors to set a 208-run target for India. In the pursuit of the winning figure, India lost Rohit Sharma early but another opener KL Rahul set the tone with a comprehensive 62 in 40 deliveries in Hyderabad. on the other end, skipper Virat Kohli inflicted carnage on the Indies bowlers, making an unbeaten 94 off 50 balls to register a victory by 4 wickets and 8 balls to spare.
207 vs Sri Lanka
India’s 3rd highest successful run chase in the T20 has been 207 vs Sri Lanka in 2009 in Mohali. Getting to bat first, Sri Lanka made 206 runs with some good knocks from their batting unit. Afterward, India did start slowly but acceleration at the right time led India to chase the score in 19.1 overs. Courtesy of the victory goes to Virender Sehwag’s fire 64 off 36 balls, Yuvraj Singh’s blitz 60 off 25 balls, and MS Dhoni’s composed 46 in 28 deliveries.
