India’s Squad For Bangladesh Tests 2024

The BCCI announced India’s squad for the upcoming Bangladesh test series starting on 19th September in Chennai. Rishabh Pant has returned to the side after making his last appearance in December 2022, following a commendable fifty in the first game of the Duleep Trophy for India B.

Uttar Pradesh fast bowler Yasj Dayal who impressed the selectors with his performance in the IPL 2024 and a recently concluded game in the Duleep Trophy, taking four wickets combining both innings. The other wicket-keepers in the squad are veteran KL Rahul and young Dhruv Jurel who drew everyone’s attention with a match-winning 90 in the fourth test against England earlier this year.

Experienced campaigners, skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are back in the top order along with the future flag-bearers Shubman Gill and Yashasi Jaiswal. Mumbai batter Sarfaraz Khan has also been added in the middle-order while Shreyas Iyer has been overlooked by the selectors.

The Spin department contains of Ravi Ashwin, Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav. All of them have batting ability along with spinning the web.

Jasprit Bumrah is returning to the side for the first time since India’s T20 World Cup 2024 triumph and will lead the pace bowling corp with the help of MD Siraj and Akash Deep.
