Islam Makhachev vs Charles Oliviera

Islam Makhachev and Charles Oliviera are two of the greatest fighters to contest in the lightweight division of the UFC. Islam has enjoyed 13 match winning streak at the promotion while the Brazilian artist has won 11 games on a trot during his prime. The Russian beast Islam Makhachev faced Oliviera for the first time during the lightweight title shot at the UFC 280 in 2022 in Abu Dhabi. The Dagestan-born fighter won the intense fight in the second round via a triangle choke submission. With this amazing victory, Makhachev became the new lightweight champion of the UFC.

Islam was supposed to face Charles Oliviera again for his second title defense in a rematch at UFC 293 in 2023. However, the Brazilian ace pulled out of the fight, citing some injuries, and was replaced by Australian MMA fighter Alexandar Volkanovski. Makhachev won this fight with a head kick knockout in the first round.
