James Anderson’s Best Bowling Figure In Test

One of the greatest fast bowlers of all time James Anderson recently brought down curtains on his 21-year-old glorious career which commenced in 2003. With his outstanding conventional and reverse swing bowling, he has dominated the format regularly. Still, Anderson’s best bowling figure in a test emerged against the West Indies in the 3rd test of the West Indies tour of England in 2017 at Lord’s. After picking up two wickets in the first innings, the ace seamer wreaked havoc on the visiting batting lineup in the second innings and claimed 7/42, including the first five batsmen, steering the hosts to bundle them for 177.

Having been the first seamer to take 650 and 700 wickets in tests, Anderson ended his career on a high note with 704 wickets under his belt. As a frontline fast bowler for England, his job was to give breakthroughs with the new ball and create inroads en route to opponents’ partnerships. Anderson’s legacy as a new ball bowler will always be immortal, it is unlikely that any fast bowler can replicate his accuracy and control over the ball.
