      James Anderson’s Last Test Match

Veteran England pacer James Anderson is the country’s all-time leading wicket-taker across formats with 987 wickets in 400 matches. The bowler with the most wickets among pace bowlers in the test, Anderson will play his last test match on 10th July against West Indies at Lord’s, the same venue where he made his test debut 21 years ago against Zimbabwe. It will be his 188th appearance in the longest format of the game, the 2nd most by any player in the test history.

      James Anderson's Last Test Match

Anderson has been a tireless servant for England in the test format, taking 700 wickets at an impressive average of 26.52, including 32 fifers. If he manages to take 9 wickets in his last test match he will surpass legendary Shane Warne as the 2nd highest wicket taker in the format. He also needs 13 wickets to complete 1000 scalps at the highest level. Achieving these feats on his final test would be remarkable.

Anderson has left an imprint on world cricket with his insane control over swing bowling with the new ball and reverse swing with the old ball. He can consistently hit the wicket-taking area and take the ball away and into the batsman seamlessly. His brilliant maintenance on fitness has enabled him to bowl long and healthy spells for over two decades now.
