Jasprit Bumrah Registered Best Bowling Figure In T20 World Cup

The spearhead of the Indian bowling attack Jasprit Bumrah registered his best bowling figure in the T20 World Cup during India’s high-octane clash against Pakistan on 9th June at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. Bumrah returned with an impressive figure of 3/14 in his allotted four overs, helping India secure a 6-run victory while defending 119.

Batting first, India was folded for a mere 119 runs on a track which was challenging for the batters. Wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant scored 42 off 31 balls and Axar added 20 with the bat. With the pursuit of defending the total. Pakistan got off to a steady start but Bumrah sent back confident Babar Azam with a short of good length delivery on the off side in the 5th over. In his first two overs, he conceded 9 runs and took a wicket. Then Rohit brought him back in the attack in the 15th over and in the first ball, he castled the stumps of set Rizwan who made 31 off 42 balls. Bumrah therefore bowled the important 19th over when Pakistan needed 21 runs in 12 balls, conceding only 2 runs with the mix of slower and good length deliveries to make sure Arshdeep had enough to defend in the final over.

Eventually, India won the low-scoring thriller by 6 runs as Arshdeep remained calm and executed good balls in the last over. The whole bowling contingent supported Bumrah immensely by bowling on tricky areas with variations. Vice Captain Hardik Pandya scalped 2/24 while Arshdeep and Axar took one wicket apiece. Additionally, Siraj also bowled a superb spell of 0/19 in four overs.
