      Former champions Sri Lanka holds the record for the lowest target defended in the T20 World Cup. In the 2014 edition, they bundled the Kiwis for a mere 60 runs against their target of 120 runs in Chattogram. Left-arm spinner Rangana Herath bagged five wickets for 3 runs in the game.

      The winner of the 2007 instalment of the T20 WC, India defended a low target of 120 runs against Pakistan in New York in 2024. A remarkable bowling performance by the Indian bowling unit led by Jasprit Bumrah‘s glorious 3/14 helped them hammer Pakistan.

      In 2016, Afghanistan shielded 124 run target against the West Indies in Nagpur, the 3rd lowest target defended in the T20 World Cup. All bowlers including Rashid Khan and MD Nabi delivered economical spells with wickets on regular intervals to restrict the Caribbeans to 117/8 in 20 overs.
