      Most Gold Medals For Russia In Olympics

      Larisa Latynina, a prolific artistic gymnastics player, won the most Gold medals for Russia in the Olympics. From 1956 to 1964, she won a staggering nine Golds in the Olympics and overall 18 medals. In the 1956 edition in Melbourne, Larisa bagged four Golds which came in the team, all-around, floor exercise, and Vault.

In the 1972 installment in Munich, the late player won a Gold in floor exercise. He bagged four Golds in Montreal in 1976 and ended his Olympic career with two Golds in Moscow in 1980 and with a total medal of 15.

      The third place on this list goes to another late veteran gymnast Boris Shakhlin. He also accumulated seven Gold medals along with four Silvers and two Bronzes. He competed in three editions of the Olympics from 1056 to 1964.
