Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has taken the most wickets in the T20 World Cup history. Having played in 36 games, the slow left-arm spinner has grabbed 47 wickets at an impressive strike rate of 16.48. Shakib has played in every edition of the event so far and maintains a superb economy of 6.78.
Former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi gets 2nd place on the elite list of most wickets in the T20 World Cup history. Playing 34 matches, the leg spinner took 39 scalps, striking at a decent rate of 20.76. He boasted a stunning economy of 6.71. Afridi was instrumental in winning the 2009 T20 WC for Pakistan with 11 wickets and 176 runs in 11 matches.
Probably the greatest seamer in the shortest format of the game, Lasith Malinga claimed the third most wickets in the T20 World Cup history with 38 wickets in 31 games. His strike rate was a captivating 16.21 while he averaged a decent 20.07 with the ball. He is one of the few bowlers to take a fifer in the mega event, 5/31 against England in 2012.
