MS Dhoni is one of the best batsmen to ever play the limited-over formats, especially in the ODI, his impact and performance is unparalleled. The Ranchi boy had an unorthodox fashion of batting which was earlier considered to be unsuitable for the longest format of the game. However, MS Dhoni went against all odds and batted exceptionally well in the format, saving many games for India on many occasions at home and overseas. Dhoni’s highest score in the test came in the first match of Australia’s tour of India 2013 in Chennai. Batting at no 7, the aggressive wicket-keeper batsman made 224 runs off only 265 deliveries while reaching the 200-run mark in 231 balls. He stitched two major partnerships in the game, first a fluent 128-run stand with Virat Kohli and then a 140-run stand with tailender Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Nathan Lyon who has established himself as one of the best spinners in the format was Dhoni’s prey that day as he smashed Lyon for 104 runs in 85 balls. On the back of the first innings lead powered by MS Dhoni, India registered a victory by 8 wickets.
