New Zealand Announced Squad For T20 World Cup 2024

The New Zealand Cricket Board has announced its 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 on Monday, April 29th. Veteran Kiwi batter Kane Williamson will lead the side in the West Indies and the USA, appearing in his 6th T20 World Cup.

The management has also shown their faith in the veteran fast bowling duo of Trent Boult and Tim Southee who will be playing his 7th World Cup edition since his first participation in 2010.

Amid injury concerns, seam bowling all-rounders Kyle Jamieson and Adam Milne have missed out on the unit. After failing to play in the IPL 2024 due to a thumb injury, Coway is all set to be the Blackcaps’ first-choice wicket-keeper in the big event.

The Kiwis have included Rachin Ravindra and Matt Henry who will play their maiden T20 World Cup owing to their great form in the white ball cricket since the 2023 World Cup.

Apart from them, T20 specialists Lockie Ferguson, Jimmy Neesham, Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi, Glenn Phillips, Finn Allen, Mark Chapman, Micheal Bracewell, and Daryl Mitchell will travel with the team with the aim of winning their maiden T20 WC title.

Young fast bowler Ben Sears will also be with the team as a traveling reserve.

New Zealand will begin their campaign against Afghanistan on 8th June in Guyana. However, their big clash will be played on 13th June against the hosts West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago.
