KeymasterPSG Won Maiden Champions League Title, Hammered Inter Milan by 5-0
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) etched their name in history by securing their first-ever UEFA Champions League title in emphatic fashion, dismantling Inter Milan 5-0 in the final at the Allianz Arena in Munich on Saturday, May 31. The staggering margin of victory is now the largest in the tournament’s 69-year history, which began in 1956.
The Parisian club wasted no time asserting its dominance. Just 12 minutes into the match, Achraf Hakimi opened the scoring against his former team but refrained from celebrating out of respect. The lead was doubled at the 20-minute mark by 19-year-old sensation Désiré Doué, who later struck again in the 63rd minute to make it 3-0. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and substitute Senny Mayulu then added a goal each, sealing a historic triumph for PSG.
This victory marks redemption for PSG, who suffered heartbreak in their only previous Champions League final appearance in 2020, losing to Bayern Munich. Now, they have finally fulfilled their long-standing dream of lifting the coveted trophy, cementing their place among Europe’s elite.
Interestingly, before this final, PSG had never faced Inter Milan in a competitive fixture. Their only previous meetings came in five friendly matches, where PSG won three and Inter claimed one victory. However, the first official encounter turned into a nightmare for the Italian side, as they found themselves completely outclassed and unable to mount a challenge.
