Rohit Sharma Goes Past Rahul Dravid To Become 4th Highest Run-Getter

Skipper Rohit Sharma went past former Indian ace Rahul Dravid to become the 4th highest run-getter for India in ODI cricket history. He reached the landmark during his rampage knock of 64 off 44 deliveries in the 2nd ODI between India and Sri Lanka on 4th August at the R Premadasa Stadium.

Rahul Dravid who recently helped India to win their 2nd T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies as a head coach ended his career with 10768 runs in 344 ODIs but Rohit now has 10831 runs in only 264 games in his name. In the third over during India’s chase, he pulled a short ball from Asitha Fernando to the square leg for one run, surpassing Rahul Dravid on the tally of most ODI runs for India.

Despite Rohit’s flier start to the team, India once again slid in the middle overs and got bundled for 208 runs in Colombo due to the leg-spin masterclass by Jeffrey Vandersay who picked up a sensational 6/33. Earlier, India limited the hosts to a decent score of 240/9 in 50 overs.
