Rohit Sharma is one of the best players to ever play white-ball cricket. Rohit did not start his career in 50-over cricket as an opener until the 2013 Champions Trophy when skipper MS Dhoni promoted him to the opener and that move worked as a wonder. Rohit became a destructive and a more impactful player as an opener. Especially against Sri Lanka, Rohit plays an aggressive brand of cricket and tends to build long innings. He has played the most ODIs against Sri Lanka and scored 1864 runs in 52 matches at an impressive average of 45.46, including six centuries and 7 fifties.

Two out of his three double centuries in the ODIs came against the Lankan Lions. In an ODI game in 2014 at Eden Gardens, the Mumbai batsman played a brutal knock of 264 runs off 173 balls laced with 33 fours and nine sixes which is the highest individual score in the formats history. His third double-century, an astonishing 208* off 153 balls appeared in the 2nd ODI of the Sri Lanka tour of India 2017 in Mohali.
