Shabnim Ismail Recorded Fastest Ever Ball In Women’s Cricket

Former South African Women’s cricketer Shabnim Ismail recorded the fastest-ever ball in women’s cricket during the 12th match of the WPL 2024 against Delhi Capitals. She Clocked 132.1 km/hr during her 3rd over of the spell at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Mumbai Indians were playing Delhi Capitals in their 5th group game in Delhi. The spearhead of the MI bowling attack Ismail did not have a great day with the ball but her full-length cross-seam delivery to DC skipper Meg Lanning stormed the internet as it was the quickest by a bowler in women’s cricket. Her bowling figure of that day was 46/1 in 4 overs. Initially, after the ball hit the pad of Lanning, it was shown as 138.1 but later the broadcasters corrected the error and showed it was 132.1 km/hr.

So far in four games, Shabnim has scalped 6 wickets at an impressive average of 15.67.
