      Shane Warner is considered the finest leg spinner to ever play the game. Hailing from the Victoria province of Australia, Warne made his international debut against India in a test match in 1992 at SCG, returning with a figure of 1/150 in 45 overs while his ODI debut came in next year against New Zealand. Across formats, the leg-spinner bagged 708 wickets in 145 tests and 293 wickets in 194 ODIs. Warne was a part of the 1999 World Cup-winning Australian team and ended as the highest wicket-taker with 20 wickets in 10 matches. In tests, the ace bowler touched new heights every time he stepped on the field. He got leg-spin, googly, flipper, straighter in his armory to deceive the batters. In 339 games across formats, he claimed 1001 scalps at a captivating strike rate of 51.2. Warne retired from international cricket in 2007 after the Sydney test against England and Andrew Flintoff was his last wicket at the highest level.

      In the inaugural IPL season, the Aussie legend joined Rajasthan Royals as a marquee player for $450000 and remained with them till 2011. Rajasthan Royals lifted the trophy in 2008 under the leadership of Warner and he led from the front with 19 wickets in 14 games. In 2009, the spin wizard bagged 14 scalps in 13 outings. The 2010 edition was a bit silent for him, taking only 11 wickets in 14 games, however, had a commendable economy of 7.60. Warne did better in his final IPL season in 2011 with 13 wickets in as many games.

      In total, Shane Warne claimed 57 wickets in 55 matches with the best score of 4/21. In his IPL career, Warne played for only one team and that was Rajasthan Royals. His name will be forever etched into the history books for winning the maiden IPL trophy as a captain.
