Shubman Gill’s Runs In IPL 2024

Current Indian opener Shubman Gill led the Gujarat Titans in 2024 after their regular captain Hardik Pandya was traded to Mumbai Indians. Gill’s number as a batter was not attractive this season, he could only muster 426 runs in 12 matches at an impressive strike rate of 147.40 and a decent strike rate of 38.72 with two fifties and one ton in his name.

Gujarat’s last two group games against KKR and SRH got washed out due to heavy rain. In the first six matches, he scored 255 runs but in the next five games, his form saw a dip, making only 67 runs. His batting stats got a boost when he scored 103 off 51 balls against Chennai Super Kings in Ahmedabad. Overall it was an average season for him as he batted poorly, mainly during the powerplay overs, and struggled to hit boundaries, leading his team to get a quiet start. Moreover, his batting partner Wriddhiman Saha’s poor form was also a reason for him to not play without pressure.
