Team India Recorded Fastest Fifty In Test

Team India recorded the fastest fifty in a test by a team during the fourth day of the second test against Bangladesh on 30th September. After two days of continuous washout in Kanpur, India first bundled the visitors for 233 runs and came out to bat after lunch, touching the fifty-run mark in just 18 balls. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma wreaked havoc on the Bangladeshi seamers and added 30 (13) and 19 (6) runs. They smashed four sixes and six fours combined to give India a flier start inside three overs.

Earlier England achieved the milestone against the West Indies in Nottingham in 2024, scoring the team fifty in just 26 balls.

The rest of the Indian batters followed the footprint of the openers and almost every batsman scored at a strike rate above 100 with Kohli and Rahul contributing with 47 off 35 balls and 68 off 43 balls respectively to take India’s score to 285/9 before declaring the innings.
