Team India’s Squad For T20 World Cup 2024
The BCCI announced Team India’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 on 30th April. Rohit Sharam will captain the side while Hardik Pandya has been made the vice-captain. Veteran wicket-keeper batter KL Rahul has not been included in the 15-member squad.
Sanju Samson has been given a chance in the unit alongside Rishabh Pant for the wicket-keeper spot. Both the players have been in great form in the IPL 17. For the left-right opening combination, the selectors have considered Yashsavi Jaiswal by overlooking Shubman Gill who will be with the team as a reserve player.
In the spin bowling department, Yuzvenrda Chahal has been added to the team owing to sensational form in the ongoing IPL, and Kuldeep Yadav has been an automatic choice.
The other all-rounders in the team are Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel. Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav will be the first-choice batters to lift the trophy.
India has selected three pacers for the marquee event- Jasprit Bumtrah, Arshdeep Singh, and MD Siraj.
With Gill, Rinku Singh, Khaleel Ahmed, and Avesh Khan will be the other traveling reserves on the side.
India will start their T20 World Cup 2024 with the game against Ireland on 5th June and the mother of all clashes India vs Pakistan will take place on 9th June in New York.
