Umar Nurmagomedov’s UFC Record

The cousin of the former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, Umar Nurmagomedov is another great fighter hailing from Dagestan. He contests in the bantamweight division of the Ultimate Fight Championship.

Umar commenced his MMA journey against Rishat Kharisov in 2016 at the Fight Nights Global 57 in Moscow. He won the fight via submission in the second round. The sambo-style fighter won six fights before moving to the Eagle Fighting Championship in 2018. In the same year, he fought in the American promotion Professional Fighters League.

Umar Nurmagomedov joined the UFC in 2020 and his record there is a captivating 6-0. He has won all the fights where three wins came via decision, two victories via submission, and one win through knockout.

In his first UFC fight against Kazakhstani athlete Sergey Morozov in 2021, Umar defeated him via a rare naked choke in the second round. He faced American fighter Cory Sandhagen in his last fight which was the bantamweight title eliminator in Abu Dhabi in August 2024 and secured a win via unanimous decision.
