Usain Bolt Became The Brand Ambassador For T20 World Cup 2024
Former Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt has been appointed as the brand ambassador for the T20 World Cup 2024 by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday 24th April. The 9th edition of the T20 World Cup will begin in the West Indies and the USA on 2nd June and the final will be played on 29th June.
Usain Bolt holds the record for the least time taken to complete 100-meter and 200-meter races. The veteran sprinter has clinched eight Gold medals in the Olympics from 2008 to 2016. Bolt will play a big role in promoting the marquee event in the USA. He will also be seen in the anthem Song of T20 WC 2024 sung by popular artists Sean Paul and Kes.
Bolt said that “he is excited to be an ambassador for the T20 World Cup 2024. The game holds a special place in his heart coming from Jamaica where it is popular. He will be attending the West Indies games in the stadium and he is happy to contribute to making cricket a global sport”.
16 out of 40 group games will be played in the USA across three venues in Dallas, New York, and Florida. India will commence their campaign against Ireland on 5th June however, the high voltage clash against Pakistan will take place on 9th June in New York.
