During his career, he was India’s frontline spinner and played 66 test matches, bagging 266 wickets at an impressive average of 28.7. While in ODIs, he stepped up 10 times and took 7 wickets. The Punjab-born also led the national team in 22 tests.
In domestic cricket, the left-arm spinner played for Northern Punjab and Delhi. Apart from playing cricket, He managed the Indian team and helped to groom many budding cricketers.
