Ace Indian batsman Virat Kohli became the first player to score 8000 runs in the IPL during the eliminator game of IPL 2024 against Rajasthan Royals at the Iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He scored 33 off 24 deliveries with the help of three fours and one six at a decent strike rate of 137.5.

Kohli may have achieved the unique milestone but RCB could only make 172 runs in their allotted 20 overs and RR chased down the score by four wickets and six balls to spare. Therefore his landmark did not get a celebration. Further, the classy Delhi batter is also the first batsman to amass 4000, 6000, and 7000 runs in the IPL. No other batter has even scored 7000 runs in the competition.

The wait to hold the first IPL trophy for Virat Kohli and RCB is still continuing. It’s been 17 years now and RCB and Co. got choked in the playoffs for the 9th time.
