Who Is The First Bowler To Take 200 Wickets In IPL?
Veteran Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal became the first bowler on the planet to take 200 wickets in the IPL during the 38th match between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians in Jaipur. He reached the milestone in his 153rd IPL match.
The Haryana leggie finished with a figure of 1/48 in his allotted four overs in the game as the visitors posted 179/9 after winning the toss. In reply, the hosts chased down the total by nine wickets and eight balls to spare on the back of Yashasvi Jaiswal’s unbeaten 104 off 60 balls.
Chahal is currently the highest wicket-taker in the Indian Premier League with 200 scalps in 153 games at an impressive economy rate of 7.73. He began his career with Mumbai Indians in 2013 and over the years has evolved himself as one of the best spinners in the marquee event. His wit along with pace and flight variations have helped him to deceive the batters. Moreover, the ace spinner has also taken the most wickets for India in T20Is with 96 wickets in 80 outings.
