Zaheer Khan’s Wickets In 2011 World Cup

The former spearhead of the Indian bowling lineup Zaheer Khan had a campaign to remember in the 2011 World Cup in India. The left-arm seamer from Mumbai picked up 21 wickets in all nine games he played at an impressive average of 18.76. His best bowling figure of 3/20 in the edition came against the Netherlands in Delhi.

Zaheer provided breakthroughs in the powerplay as well as in the middle and death overs all over the tournament. In the finals against Sri Lanka, the legendary fast bowler bowled an incredible opening spell of five overs and conceded 6 runs with 1 wicket, including three maidens. He finished the event as the joint-highest wicket-taker with Shahid Afridi.
