      Sachin Tendulkar’s Highest Score In ODI

      Sachin Tendulkar is probably the best batsman the world has ever seen in ODIs. He played his maiden ODI during the 1989 India tour of Pakistan in Gujranwala and got dismissed for a duck by Waqar Younis. Hailed as the ‘Master Blaster’, the elegant right-hand batsman featured in 463 ODIs and amassed 18426 runs at an impressive average of 44.8 while his strike rate remained a commendable 86.2. The batting stalwart hit 49 tons and 96 fifties in the format, dictating his consistency and hunger for runs.

      Tendulkar’s highest score in ODIs arrived in the latest stage of his career in 2010 against South Africa in Gwalior. After winning the toss in the 2nd ODI of the SA tour of India 2010, Sachin came to open the innings along with Virender Sehwag and scored an unbelievable 200* off 147 balls against a robust bowling lineup consisting of Dale Steyn, Charl Langeveldt, Wayne Parnell, and Jacques Kallis. It was the first time a batter touched the 200-run mark in the history of ODI cricket. He smashed 25 fours and 3 sixes in his sensatioal outing. Therefore,  India put up a massive total of 401/3 in 50 overs on the back of Sachin’s superb knock and restricted the visitors to 248 to win the game by a big margin of 148 runs.
