Shoaib Akhtar is a former Pakistani and the fastest bowler to ever play the game. Having made his international debut in a test match against West Indies in 1997, Akhtar represented Pakistan across all formats till 2011 in 224 outings and took 444 wickets with the best bowling figure of 6/11 against New Zealand. Due to regular injuries, he could not play more in the test format. However, in ODIs he excelled the most, bagging 247 wickets in 163 matches. Designated as the ‘Rawalpindi Express’. he clocked 161.3 km/hr during the 2003 cricket World Cup against England, the fastest-ever ball in international cricket.

Shoaib Akhtar played one season of IPL like other Paksitani players- Shahid Afridi, Sohail Tanvir, Shoaib Malik, etc. Kolkata Knight Riders bought him in the 2008 IPL for INR 17068000. He made his IPL debut against Delhi Daredevils and helped KKR to defend a mere 133 runs with a match-winning spell of 4/11. Therefore, he was featured in two more games but could snare only one wicket.
