Rohit Sharma Became First Indian To Hit 500 Sixes In T20

Indian captain Rohit Sharma became the first Indian to hit 500 sixes in the T20 format. He achieved this rare feat during Mumbai Indian’s clash with Chennai Super Kings on 14th March at Wankhede Stadium. The Mumbai batter took 432 matches and 419 innings to reach the milestone.

The ace batsman scored an unbeaten 105 off 63 balls in the game but the hosts still fell 21 runs short of their target of 207 runs posted by CSK due to lack of required support from other MI batters. Rohit smashed five soaring sixes in his hard-fought century knock. There is no Indian batter who is close to the 500-sixes mark in the shortest format of the game. Another Indian stalwart, Virat Kohli is standing at 383 sixes which is the 2nd most sixes by an Indian in T20. MS Dhoni remains third with 331 sixes to his name.

Rohit has also smacked the most number of sixes in international cricket across formats (597).
