Punjab Kings (262)

Punjab Kings holds the record for the highest successful run chase in the IPL history. They chased down a mammoth total of 261/ 6 set by Kolkata Knight Riders in the 42nd game of IPL 2024 at the Eden Gardens. The eight-wicket victory by Punjab was inspired by a scintillating unbeaten 108 off 48 balls by Jonny Bairstow and a rampage 68* off 28  balls by Shashank Singh. Opener Prabhsinran Singh also provided the impetus the visitors needed with his explosive 54 off 20 balls. It’s now the highest run chase in T20 cricket history surpassing England’s 258 run chase in 2023 against West Indies.

Rajasthan Royals (224)

Rajasthan Royals created history in 2020 when they went past the target of 224 runs against Punjab Kings in Sharjah. Batting first, PKBS scored 223/2 in their allotted 20 overs riding on a stunning 106 off 50 balls and a decent 69 off 54 balls by KL Rahul. In reply, Roylas’ opener Steve Smith gave a flier start with 50 in 27 balls, and skipper Sanju Samson added 85 runs in 42 balls to keep his team in the game. Till the 17th over Royals were in trouble due to dot balls played by Tewatia and then in the 18th over, Tewatia targeted Sheldon Cottrell and smashed him for five sixes to turn the tide in their favour. Eventually, RR won the game by 4 wickets and three balls to spare.

Rajasthan Royals (224)

Rajasthan Royals again make a place on this elite list as they chased down a 224-run target against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens in the 2024 edition. It was opener Jos Buttler’s sole responsible innings of unbeaten 107 off 60 balls which sealed the deal for the visitors as wickets kept falling from the other end. Riyan Parag and Rovman Powell also chipped in with quick cameos of 34 off 14 and 26 in 13 balls respectively to take RR home.
