Frenkie De Jong, a central mid-fielder from the Netherlands has been hitting the headlines again this season during the summer window like every year. It is said that his current team Barcelona is looking to sing a few decent players to bolster their squad for the forthcoming season. For that, they need to sell a few players too to reserve enough money for the new signing.

Some reporters are suggesting that Barcelona is keen to sell Frenkie De Jong but his huge salary may hamper the transfer to the other clubs.

De Jong joined Barcelona four years back in 2019 and he has not been consistent with his performance since then which has caused dissatisfaction and rage among fans and in the management. The Club has always wanted to sell him but he refused every time and extended his stay. In 2022, Barcelona planned to sell him and Manchester United showed interest in signing the midfielder but his unwillingness blocked the transfer.

Frenkie has two more years of deal left with the Spanish giant but he is not regular in the starting xi of the club. Hence Barcelona would try to save money and invest those in new players. Some sources are stating that Manchester United is in line to sign the Dutch footballer like they raised hands previously.
