KeymasterNeeraj Chopra Qualified For The Finals In Men’s Javelin
Indian star athlete Neeraj Chopra qualified for the finals in the Men’s Javelin event on Tuesday 6th August in the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024. He has had a splendid start to his defense of the Gold title with the hopes and beliefs of 1.4 billion people on his shoulders.
Chopra was in Group B with 15 other athletes from various countries and recorded a throw of 89.34 meters in his first attempt which was the longest in the qualification round. The other great throwers in the group were Grenada’s Peter Anderson, Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem, and De Silva of Brazil who all advanced to the penultimate medal round.
The other finalists for the Men’s Javelin event are Weber Julian (GER), Yego Julius (KEN), Vadlejch Jakub (CZE), Keranen Toni (FIN), and Mardare Moldova (MDA).
The qualification criteria for the finals of the Men’s Javelin event in the Olympics 2024 was to breach the 84-meter mark in the 1st round and it would buy the pass for the finals.
Another Indian thrower Kishore Jena was also competing in the event but he came 9th in Group A with the best throw of 80.73 meters. Jena registered his best throw in the 1st attempt, the second was foul and he could cover only 80.21 meters in the third throw. jena sealed the Olympics 2024 berth with a throw of 87.34 meters in the Asian Games last year.
