Vinesh Phogat took retirement

Vinesh Phogat took her retirement from wrestling. She was active from 2001 to 2024. Phogat got disqualified recently from the Paris Olympics ahead of her final match in the 50 kg category due to being overweight by 100 gm. Though many raised voices for her silver medal, and the Indian contingent also requested abundantly to give them some time to shed her extra weight. The wrestling authority in the Olympics called her ineligible for the fight as per the rules.

Her medal tally includes three Gold medals in the Commonwealth Games, one Gold and Bronze in the Asian Games, One Gold, three Silver, and four Bronze medals in the Asian Championship (2013-2021).
