KeymasterRavindra Jadeja Became Highest Wicket Taker In India vs England ODIs
Star Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja etched his name into the record books during the first ODI against England on Wednesday at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur, becoming the highest wicket-taker in India vs England ODIs. He surpassed veteran England seamer James Anderson, who had 40 wickets in 31 matches, by claiming his 42nd wicket in 27 matches.
Jadeja first dismissed Joe Root for 19 in front of the wicket and then well-settled Jacob Bethell for 51 runs to cross Anderson on the tally. Adil Rashid was his last victim in the game, making his figures 3/26 in nine overs.
Before the series, there had been a lot of speculation regarding Jadeja’s inclusion in India’s ODI setup. However, with an impactful three-wicket haul, Jadeja demonstrated that he still has what it takes to perform at the highest level. In the forthcoming Champions Trophy, which might be his last ICC event, Jadeja will be a crucial part of India on the slow wickets of Dubai.
