KeymasterRCB Appointed A New Skipper For The IPL 2025
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) appointed Rajat Patidar as their new skipper for the IPL 2025 season. The announcement was made on Thursday afternoon via their social media handles.
After Faf du Plessis’s departure during the mega auction in November, there was speculation about Virat Kohli taking charge as captain, but the former skipper declined the role. Patidar, who has been a standout performer for RCB over the past few years, was given the responsibility.
Patidar has played three IPL seasons for RCB, scoring 799 runs in 28 matches at a strike rate of 158.85. His impressive performances, including a quickfire 112* off 54 balls in the 2022 playoffs against Lucknow Super Giants, have earned him this leadership role.
Additionally, the 31-year-old led his state team Madhya Pradesh to the finals of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025, finishing as the second-highest run-getter with 428 runs in 9 innings at an average of 186.08.
With his exuberance and leadership skills, Patidar may be the key to ending RCB’s trophy drought of 17 years.
