Rohit Sharma Scored The Most Centuries In T20I
Indian skipper Rohit Sharma scores the most centuries in T20Is during the penultimate match against Afghanistan of their 2023 tour of India in Bangalore.
After getting out for a duck in the first two games, Rohit Sharma went berserk on the Afghan bowlers despite remaining calm for the 1st seven overs and smashed a scintillating 121* off 69 balls laced with 11 fours and 8 sixes. The stalwart batsman stood on the crease from the first to the last ball. His outrageous knock made him the 1st player on the planet to score 5 tons in the shortest format of the game. The spectacular unbeaten 121* is now Rohit’s highest score in T20Is.
The Mumbai batter’s century led India to post 212 runs in their allocated 20 overs. However, Afghan all-rounder Gulbadin Naib’s incredible 50* off 23 balls, including 18 runs in the last over took the match to the Super Over. The first Super Over was also a tie, and in the 2nd Super Over, India could only manage to get 11 runs. Then, skipper Rohit laid his faith on leggie RavI Bishnoi and he took two wickets in three deliveries to win the game for India.
The hosts whitewashed the visitors, Afghanistan by 3-0 to lift the IDFC Bank T20 Trophy.
