There have been a lot of discussions about India’s participation in the upcoming Champions Trophy which is slated to take place in Pakistan but the ICC has not finalized the fixtures yet. Recently, the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) informed the ICC that the Indian Government has not given the board a green signal to travel to Pakistan amid security concerns.
The BCCI has proposed a hybrid model for the ICC tournament like the Asia Cup 2023 when Pakistan hosted four games in their country while a total of nine games, including the matches of India occurred in Sri Lanka. Eventually, India hammered Lanka awfully in the finals in Dambulla. However, the PCB is not happy with BCCI’s decision and is likely to file a complaint against India to the ICC Dispute Resolution Committee, according to a report by Revzsportz.
Some different aspects are also on the horizon such as if India does not play in the Champions Trophy 2025, the ICC may lose many sponsors as the BCCI plays a significant role in bringing huge money into the game. Besides, veterans like Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, and Rohit Sharma have huge brand values and their quality of cricket attracts millions of viewers across the world.
In the last Champions Trophy in 2017, Pakistan recorded a massive victory against India in the finals in England. No matter where the tournament gets placed, India will be eager to avenge their big loss against Pakistan and add another ICC trophy to its cabinet. The Men in Blue lifted the Champions Trophy last time in 2013 under the leadership of MS Dhoni in England.
Or team India will play in Dubai only. India will never go to Pakistan to play and India will win the Champions Trophy 2025 too.
