KeymasterAB De Villiers Got Inducted Into ICC Hall Of Fame
Former South African player AB De Villiers was inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame by the reputed organization for his exuberance and contribution to cricket during his 14-year glorious long career on Wednesday 16th October. De Villiers became the 115th member of the ICC Hall of Fame, while ex-English opener Alastair Cook and spinner Neetu David became the 113th and 114th members, respectively.
AB De Villiers not only made a pile of runs with the Willow but entertained the whole world with his innovative shot play and consistency, regardless of the format. Making his international debut in 2004 against England in a test, the veteran batsman scored 20014 runs at an impressive average of 48.11 with the help of 109 fifties and 20 centuries. He also holds the record for the fastest 50, 100, and 150 in ODI cricket which came in 16, 31, and 64 deliveries respectively. He retired from international cricket in 2018 with a staggering average of over 50 in tests and ODIs, a rare achievement in cricket.
De Villiers never had the fortune to win the World Cup despite being a gun player however he was a part of the South African team that made the semi-finals of the 2007 T20 World Cup and the semi-finals of the 2015 World Cup in Australia.
