Alex Pereira is a former kickboxer and current mixed martial artist, hailing from Sao Paulo Brazil. Pereira began his career as a kickboxer and before earning a reputation in the field, he competed as an amateur boxer, winning 25 out of 28 bouts. In kickboxing, the 6 ft 4-inch athlete clinched the Glory light heavyweight and middleweight championship simultaneously, the only one to do so in the sport.

Alex Pereira’s UFC record stands at an impressive 9-1 where four wins came in the middleweight and five in the light heavyweight division.
Pereira made his MMA debut in 2015 at Jungle Fight 82 and lost his first fight via submission to Quemuel Ottoni. However, won his subsequent two fights in the event via KO and TKO. He even featured in Dana White’s Contender Series and Legacy Fighting Alliance before signing for UFC in 2021. His maiden fight at the UFC 268 was in the middleweight division against Michailidis which he won via technical knockout. The Beast played two matches before the middleweight championship battle against Israel Adesanya and triumphed in both. He beat Israel to clinch the championship belt.
In 2023, Pereira moved to the light-heavyweight division and defeated Jan Blachowicz via split decision. His second fight in this division was a title shot against former champion Jiri Prochazka and Pereira registered a victory via technical knockout to become the new light heavyweight champion.
