Khamzat Chimaev vs Robert Whittaker Fight Result

Khamzat Chimaev was born in Chechnya, Russia but fought in the UFC as a Swedish player and later moved to the UAE in 2023. The 6 ft 2-inch strong fighter played seven games in the UFC in the welterweight and middleweight divisions before the game against Robert Whittaker in the middleweight category.

Khamzat was scheduled to face former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker for the first time in June 2024 but due to some illness, he had to pull out of the bout. Finally, at the UFC 308 on 26th October 2024, Khamzat locked horns with Australian fighter Robert Whittaker and beat him in the first round via a face-crank submission at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.

Just a few seconds into the fight, Khamzat tried to take him to the ground by grappling. He continuously tried to take control of Whittaker’s back and did not give him a second to breathe. Whittaker had to use all his force and wit to push him away. Once Chimaev got full control over his counterpart’s body with his strength and technique, he locked his arms around his neck and Whittaker tapped out immediately. Later it was revealed that, during the submission, Khamzat dislocated Whittaker’s jaw and broke a few teeth. It was the Australian athlete’s first submission in the UFC.

With the win, Khamzat’s golden run in the UFC continues with an impressive tally of 8-0 and he is gradually moving toward a title shot in the middle-weight category.
