Micthell Marsh smashes a century on his birthday

In form Aussie opener Mitchell Marsh smashed a 99-ball century against Pakistan on his 32nd birthday in Bengaluru in the 18th match of the 2023 World Cup. The son of famous Australian batter Geoff Marsh hit 9 maximums and 10 fours in his wonderful innings of 121 off 108 balls.
He became the only 2nd player after New Zealand’s Ross Taylor to score a century on his birthday. The Kiwi legend amassed an unbeaten 131 against Pakistan in the 2011 World Cup in Pallekele. Overall, the explosive right-hand batsman is only the 6th player to hit a ton on birthday.
The recently turned 32-year-old cricketer stitched a 259 runs-opening partnership with David Warner, who also made a fantastic hundred to keep Australia in a powerful position in the match. Owing to their dynamite start, the rest of the Australian batters can easily give a golden finish to take their team post-400.
